Capabilities that change how you run your content program

Get structured, reasoned, and transparent evaluations that help your prioritize the highest-impact sessions for your agenda quickly.

Abstract & Session Lifecycle Management

Abstracts are now a fully distinct submission type from sessions, with their own forms, views, and lifecycle management. Multiple abstracts can be combined into a single finalized session. Your committee sees proposals as proposals — not as unfinished sessions.

  • Custom participant roles for every event: Author, Co-author, Panelist, Discussant — or any label your community uses.
  • Title is the only required field. Description is optional. Forms adapt to your program, not the other way around.
  • Full submission-to-agenda audit trail: every stage, every decision, permanently logged.

Round-Based Peer Review

A single-pass review was never sufficient for programs that run serious peer review. Enterprise Abstract Management makes multi-stage review native, clean, and fully visible — replacing the approximations that break down at scale.

  • Each evaluation plan contains multiple independent rounds: Initial Review, Final Review, Committee Decision — or any structure your program uses.
  • Assign specific submissions to specific reviewers, set maximum reviews per submission and per reviewer, preview all assignments before confirming, and filter by any field value.
  • Real-time progress dashboard: know exactly which reviewers are on track, which rounds are open, and where the bottlenecks are.
  • Full export support for all scoring data at every stage.

Submission Payments

Submission fees are standard at academic and association events. Until now, managing them required a separate tool — creating split workflows, double data entry, and reconciliation headaches. Payments are now native to your submission form.

  • Connect your existing payment gateway - 100+ supported. All funds go directly to your organization.
  • Promo codes for invited speakers, committee members, or partners.
  • VAT rules for international submissions.
  • PCI-compliant handling. No card data is stored on the platform.
  • Payment status visible per submission in your admin dashboard — no external reconciliation required.

Reviewer Portal & Site

Requiring external reviewers to have admin accounts was a security risk, an onboarding burden, and a recurring source of friction. The magic-link model eliminates all three. The Program Site provides every stakeholder — submitters, reviewers, and admins — with a single URL that shows exactly what they need to see.

  • Branded portal that matches your event — a professional experience, not a generic tool.

Our support team is ready to help you with anything you can’t solve on your own.

Let's talk
What is the difference between an abstract and a session in Sessionboard?

An abstract is a proposal — a submission made through your Call for Abstracts form. A session is a finalized agenda item. In Sessionboard, these are distinct entities with their own forms, views, and lifecycle management. Your review committee evaluates abstracts. Your program team accepts and schedules sessions. The transition from one to the other is automatic upon acceptance — no re-entry required.

Can Sessionboard handle a multi-stage blind peer review process?

Yes. All evaluation plans are built as round-based by default. You can configure any number of rounds — Initial Review, Final Review, Committee Decision, or any stage structure your program uses. Each round has its own scorecard, open and close dates, anonymization settings, and reviewer pool. Scorecard fields support numeric ratings, text responses, dropdowns, and file uploads in any combination.

Can I collect submission fees directly through Sessionboard?

Yes. Payments can be collected directly within the Call for Abstracts submission forms. You connect your existing payment gateway — 100+ are supported — and all funds go directly to your organization. Supporting features include promo codes for invited speakers or partners, VAT configuration for international submissions, and PCI-compliant handling with no card data stored on the platform.

How do external reviewers access their assigned submissions?

Reviewers receive a magic link by email. They land on a dedicated, branded evaluation portal that shows only their assigned submissions and review rounds — no admin account needed, no platform onboarding, no security exposure. They complete their reviews entirely within that portal. Admins have a full progress dashboard across all reviewers, rounds, and at all times.

Is Sessionboard suitable for large-volume abstract programs?

Yes. The platform is built to handle high-volume programs at medical societies, academic conferences, and large professional associations. The assignment system lets admins set maximum reviews per submission and per reviewer, preview all assignments before confirming, and filter by any field value. AI Evaluators are available to provide first-pass scoring support when submission volumes are high, giving your committee a baseline before human review begins.

Does Sessionboard integrate with AMS systems used by associations?

Yes — Sessionboard is designed to complement the association management systems (AMS) you already rely on, not replace them.Integration availability varies by AMS platform. Please contact our team for a current compatibility assessment for your specific system, including iMIS, Personify, Fonteva, and others.

Can Sessionboard be enabled on an ongoing event without data migration?

Yes. Enterprise Abstract Management shares the same core data model as the standard Sessions workflow. It can be enabled on a live or ongoing event without data migration — your existing content remains intact.
