Jacksonville, FL — [March 23, 2026] — Sessionboard today announced the launch of the Event Content Lab Series, a new workshop series designed specifically for the professionals responsible for shaping conference agendas, educational programming, and thought leadership across the global events industry.

The Event Content Lab brings together experienced event content leaders to collaborate on the real-world challenges of building modern conference content programs — from cultivating networks of subject matter experts to designing educational experiences that deliver measurable value for attendees, sponsors, and organizations.

Unlike traditional industry events, the Event Content Lab is intentionally structured as a facilitated working session rather than a lecture, panel discussion, or sales event, creating an environment where practitioners can share ideas openly and develop practical solutions they can implement immediately.

“Over the past 18 months, we quietly began experimenting with small workshops for event content professionals in Washington DC and the Bay Area,” said Chris Carver, CEO of Sessionboard.

“At the end of every workshop, people kept asking the same question: ‘Why doesn’t something like this already exist for people like us?’ That’s when we realized there was a real need for a dedicated forum where event content leaders could come together to share ideas, solve problems, and elevate the craft of event content strategy.”

A New Forum for a Growing Strategic Role

The launch comes at a pivotal moment for marketing and events.

As artificial intelligence dramatically increases the volume of available content, organizations are placing greater importance on trusted expertise and authoritative voices to cut through the noise.

Event content professionals play a critical role in this shift.

They are responsible for cultivating ecosystems of subject matter experts and transforming those insights into trusted content experiences across conferences, communities, and marketing programs.

“In many ways, the AI-empowered event content professional may become one of the most powerful roles in the modern marketing organization,” Carver said.

“They are the people bringing an organization’s brand, vision, and strategic narrative to life through its ecosystem of experts. And they are stewarding two of the most valuable assets any organization has today — its network of subject matter experts and the trusted content that breaks through the noise.”

Early Momentum from Across the Event Industry

Since its initial pilot workshops, the Event Content Lab has already brought together more than 75 event content leaders from a wide range of associations, media organizations, and corporate event teams.

Participants have included professionals responsible for shaping conference programming and educational content for organizations such as Salesforce, Workday, Consumer Technology Association (CES), Informa, International Sign Association, Broadcom, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), American Urological Association, and more.

Participants have consistently highlighted the value of peer collaboration and practical insights.

“It’s like being in a room full of people who speak my language. Everyone approaches their challenges and organizations differently, which sparks creativity in approaches to solving common challenges.”
Emmalee Zaatar, Director, Education & Training, International Sign Association

“It was great to meet a group of like-minded colleagues seeing similar issues, even with very different program scopes and scales.”
Jackie Black, VP, Conferences and Events, Consumer Technology Association

“This was a great networking opportunity, and I walked away with tactical ideas to implement with the team right away.”
Robin Troy, Director, Events and Partnerships, Intermodal Association of North America

Expanding the Event Content Lab Series

Following strong demand from industry professionals, Sessionboard plans to expand the Event Content Lab Series to multiple cities across North America.

Upcoming workshops are planned for Chicago, New York, Washington DC, the Bay Area, Boston, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Austin.

Each workshop intentionally convenes a small, carefully curated group of practitioners to ensure meaningful discussion, collaboration, and shared learning among participants.

The sessions are designed to help event content leaders bridge the gap between high-level strategy and the operational realities of building modern event content programs.

Megan Martin to Moderate the Event Content Lab Series

Each Event Content Lab will be moderated by Megan Martin, founder of M Squared Dynamics and host of the Event.About.It Podcast, bringing an experienced and independent voice to guide the conversation.

Martin has spent more than two decades working across event design, marketing strategy, and community building. She is known for helping organizations connect the dots between event content, audience engagement, and business impact.

“I am so excited to have Megan’s energy and expertise shepherd the conversation of each lab,” said Carver.

“Although we are using the labs as a learning environment for Sessionboard, we thought it was really important to have an independent voice curating this with us this year.”
