What events do we have in Sessionboard?
Lists the events your account can see, with ids the assistant reuses in follow-ups.
The Sessionboard MCP server is a hosted Model Context Protocol server for event management. Connect the assistant your team already uses, Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or the Sessionboard app for Slack, sign in with OAuth, and ask about sessions, speakers, submissions and reports, draft agendas and update records on live event data. Query results mask personal data by default, and every write needs the scopes you granted and a confirmation.
QUICK ANSWER
Connect Sessionboard's MCP server to the assistant (one click from Claude's connector directory for US organizations, or paste your region's server URL), sign in with OAuth and pick your organization. From then on the assistant answers questions like how many sessions are still pending review, runs your saved reports, and, if you granted write scopes, creates and updates sessions, contacts and agenda drafts with a confirmation before each change.
WHAT IT EXPOSES
Read tools cover search and discovery (list_events, find_event, get_event_overview, search, fetch, query_data, execute_sbql, ask_event), record detail (list_sessions, get_session, list_contacts, get_contact) and read-only lists of metadata, agenda drafts, event rules, Reviewer personas, dashboards and reports at event and organization level. Write tools are the manage_* family: sessions, contacts, metadata, sponsors, exhibitors, agenda drafts, draft sessions, event rules, personas, and dashboards, widgets and reports at both levels. Registration tools are in preview.
CONNECT FROM CLAUDE
Sessionboard is a published connector in Claude's directory. US-hosted organizations open Customize → Connectors → Discover, add Sessionboard, sign in and choose Authorize. EU and Middle East organizations add a custom connector with their regional URL instead; on Team and Enterprise plans an Owner can add it org-wide. Then enable the connector in a conversation and ask what events you have.
CHATGPT · COPILOT · GEMINI · DEVELOPER TOOLS
ChatGPT connects through a connector in developer mode on a paid plan. Microsoft Copilot connects through a Copilot Studio agent published to Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams. Gemini connects from the Gemini app, Gemini Enterprise or the Gemini CLI. Cursor, Claude Code and other developer tools point at the same URL with a short JSON config; the OAuth sign-in is discovered automatically.
SLACK
Install the Sessionboard app for Slack from the Apps catalog and connect it to your organization. Ask with the /sessionboard command in a channel or DM, @mention the app or message it directly; it answers from the same MCP server with the asking person's own permissions, and carries Sessionboard notifications into Slack.
READ VS WRITE
Authorization is per person and per organization. Read scopes cover queries, records, reports and dashboards. Write scopes (write:sessions, write:contacts, write:events and the rest) are granted at authorization and can be left off; an assistant that can read but not create means they were not granted, and reconnecting fixes it. Every manage_* tool is flagged as potentially destructive, so Claude and ChatGPT ask before running it, and updates carry the record's updated_at so a stale write is refused instead of overwriting someone's change.
SECURITY
The server speaks streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.0, PKCE and dynamic client registration; API tokens cannot be pasted into an assistant. Each region has its own server (mcp.sessionboard.com for the US, mcp-eu for Europe, mcp-me for the Middle East) and a connector sees only the region it points at. The consent screen lists your organization only when AI features are enabled for it and your role includes Connect AI assistants. Query results are masked server-side on every OAuth connection; direct record reads follow the scopes you granted. Scripts use API tokens, with their own PII obfuscation setting.
WHAT TO ASK FIRST
The assistant works against the organization you authorized. Name the event when a question is about one.

A natural-language query answered through SbQL, with personal fields masked.
Aggregates across the record; ask for it as a table and save it as a report.
A write: only with write:sessions granted, and after the assistant confirms with you.
Builds an agenda draft with manage_agenda_draft that you review in Sessionboard before it goes live.
A remote Model Context Protocol server, hosted by Sessionboard, that lets an AI assistant query and act on your event data: events, sessions, speakers, contacts, agenda drafts, sponsors, exhibitors, reports, dashboards and natural-language queries through SbQL. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Cursor, Claude Code and any MCP client with remote OAuth servers connect to it.
US-hosted organizations install Sessionboard from Claude's connector directory (Customize → Connectors → Discover) in one click. EU and Middle East organizations add a custom connector and paste their region's server URL. Claude opens a Sessionboard sign-in; you pick the organization and choose Authorize. No API token is involved.
Yes. ChatGPT connects through a connector created in developer mode on a paid plan, Microsoft Copilot through a Copilot Studio agent published to Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams, and Gemini through the Gemini app, Gemini Enterprise or the Gemini CLI. All of them use the same OAuth sign-in and the same server URL for your region.
Both, within what you grant. Read tools cover search, queries, sessions, contacts, reports and dashboards. Write tools (the manage_* family) only work if write scopes were granted at authorization, and assistants ask for confirmation before a change that could overwrite a record.
Natural-language and SbQL query results are always masked on OAuth connections: emails come back as j***@a***.com, phone numbers as ***-***-4567, and similar masking applies to other personal fields. This is enforced server-side and cannot be turned off. Direct record reads return the fields your granted scopes allow, so only connect assistants you trust.
Yes. The Sessionboard app for Slack connects to your organization from the Apps catalog and answers questions with the /sessionboard command, an @mention or a direct message, using the same MCP server on the asking person's own permissions. It also delivers Sessionboard notifications to Slack.
