Speaker advocacy: your speakers and attendees reach rooms you cannot buy

Share kits for every speaker, sponsor, exhibitor and attendee: their session, their card, their link. Shares and clicks come back to the record, and registrations traced to a share show up in the report.

QUICK ANSWER

What is speaker advocacy?

Speaker advocacy is peer-to-peer event marketing: the people on your agenda, and the people attending, promote the event to their own networks with a branded card and a tracked link, so a registration can be traced to the person whose post drove it. Sessionboard builds the cards from the real session and the event's branding, and credits every click and share to the advocate.

WHY IT WORKS

A post from a speaker reads as a recommendation, not an ad

Your speakers, sponsors and exhibitors reach audiences your own channels cannot, and a post from someone who is going reads as a recommendation. Advocacy gives each of them a ready-made card and post on the networks they actually use, with their name, session and photo generated from the agenda. Marketing stays in control of the brand and the message; advocates get something they are proud to share and can post as-is or make their own in seconds.

QUICK LAUNCH

A campaign is three decisions and one email

Who shares, what the card looks like and where the link goes. Quick Launch walks through them with a live preview of exactly what one of your advocates will see: pick Speakers, Groups or Attendees, name the campaign, choose a format, and the card builds itself from your event's brand color, font, logo and background. Pick recipients (all speakers, by portal, or by hand), set the share console defaults, choose a landing layout, set the tracking parameters and notify everyone in one email. Late additions join a campaign after it has launched.

ATTENDEE ADVOCACY

Turn registration into the post that brings the next registrant

An Attendees campaign gives everyone registered their own branded card and personal tracked link. Put the links in the confirmation emails your registration platform already sends, embed the card on your confirmation page, send an email from Sessionboard, or share one open link before registration opens so anyone can make their own card. Attendees come from Cvent, Swoogo, Swapcard, Bizzabo or another connected platform with attendee sync on, or from a list you import; only confirmed or checked-in attendees who have not opted out of marketing are included.

MEASURE

See exactly who fills the room

A campaign page shows recipients, shares across channels, clicks on the destination and clicks per share, with Top advocates ranked and the channel mix beside them. Activity is the same story as a feed, with the country on each click. The Analytics tab rolls every campaign on the event together into a funnel of assigned, opened, shared and clicked, with geography and a by-campaign table; both tables export to CSV. Shares and clicks land on the advocate's record, so the speakers who fill rooms are known before next year's call opens.

Speaker advocacy, answered

What is speaker advocacy?

Speaker advocacy is event promotion done by the people on your agenda: each speaker gets a branded card and a tracked link that says they are speaking, posts it to their own network, and the clicks and registrations it drives are credited to them. It is peer-to-peer marketing because the recommendation comes from a peer the audience already follows, not from the organizer's channels.

How is this different from Promote?

Promote is the campaign workspace, where you build and run promotion campaigns across every audience. Speaker advocacy is the capability inside it that gives speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and attendees their own share kits; this page explains that capability.

Who can share?

Speakers (everyone in a speaker, moderator or chair role), Groups (sponsor and exhibitor companies) and Attendees (people registered for the event, sharing that they are going). Attendees come from a registration platform connected in Apps with attendee sync on, from a list you import, or from an open link anyone can use to make their own card.

Do speakers need a Sessionboard login?

No. Each advocate opens a Creator console from their portal or from the notification email, picks a background if you offered choices, and posts in one tap or downloads the card. Recipients never need an account.

How do attendees get their card?

An Attendees campaign gives everyone registered a branded card and a personal tracked link. Put personal links in the confirmation emails your registration platform already sends, embed the card on your confirmation page, send an email from Sessionboard, or share one open link in your newsletter before registration opens.

What gets measured?

Recipients assigned, opened, shared and clicked as a funnel, clicks per share, top advocates, channel mix and geography, per campaign and rolled up across the event. Registrations traced to a share show up in the report, both tables export to CSV, and Export assets hands your marketing team every rendered card and tracked link.

Which networks?

The networks advocates actually use, including LinkedIn, and LINE and Instagram for audiences in Asia and on mobile. Each share goes to a branded landing page, or straight through to your register link, with UTM parameters you control.
